Independent Gymnastics is registered with an online DBS organisation called First Advantage. First Advantage is an organisation driven by progress and service.

First Advantage’s remote digital check services enable you to hire smarter and onboard faster, by enabling your candidates to submit their identification documentation to check their identity more efficiently and affordably. This is especially important in today’s competitive recruitment market, when onboarding processes need to be simple and fast to attract the talent you want.

Who requires an up to date DBS:

  • All coaches aged 16 years+
  • Welfare Officers

We are also able to take applications for an NI Access.

What is RightID?

Our digital first mobile journey is designed to help candidates check their identity by leveraging key technology features:

• Document capture
• Selfie
• Biometric chip data reading • Liveness check
• Facial recognition

Check results are cross referenced with data from several sources, to provide robust and compliant checks.

Digital identity can be used, stand alone, to conduct a robust identity check or to attain GPG assurance levels, set out by the UK’s Digital Trust and Attributes Framework, enabling remote UK right to work or DBS criminal record checking.

Can I use RightID on my desktop or laptop computer?

No. This process has to be done on a smart mobile device (phone or tablet) because of the camera functionality. If you try to login to Profile Advantage and start the process from a computer, you will be promoted to scan a QR code from your mobile device. After the identity verification is complete, if you need to complete your profile for the background check, you can then login to Profile Advantage from a computer to finish the rest of your profile.

What are the benefits?

First Advantage’s candidate journey is easy to use, efficient, compliant, and cost effective. Using our digital identity service you can reduce manual intervention, time, and cost associated with such checks. For candidates who prefer to visit a physical location, we also provide access to the UK’s national Post Office branch network and enable the applicants ability to continue checks at their desired location.

What is the refund policy for First Advantage?

Once an Applicant or an Organisation initiates an application through the First Advantage KnowYourPeople system, the transaction is deemed final.
Consequently, the total fee payable becomes non-refundable except under the conditions stipulated in Exceptions section below.

Exceptions: Notwithstanding the finality of purchase, please see the refund guidelines of First Advantage KnowYourPeople Team for your reference:

  • Technical Issues: A refund may be authorised & processed if a technical error within the First Advantage KnowYourPeople system, confirmed by the First Advantage KnowYourPeople Information Technology department, impedes the completion of an application or resulted to duplicate payments.
  • Incorrect Advice: If an Applicant or Organisation receives erroneous advice from First Advantage KnowYourPeople, and can substantiate such claim with written evidence, a refund may be authorised & processed.
  • Duplicate Payment: In instances where an Applicant or Organisation inadvertently makes a duplicate payment for an application that results in more than one application being created, a refund may be authorised & processed provided that the duplicate application(s) have been withdrawn and not onward processed. This may only be processed if there were proven technical errors / system issues that happened which resulted in the above. Moreover, if the duplicate payment falls under the applicant or organisation’s error (example: both the applicant and organisation paid for 1 application – it may be treated as a communication gap, or any other reasons), this will not be eligible for a refund.
  • DBS Application Form Errors: If errors input onto the application form result in the withdrawal of the DBS application a refund of the DBS fee only may be authorised & processed. This may only be processed if there were proven technical errors / system issues that happened which resulted in the above.

If an application has a sudden change of mind or has been withdrawn by the DBS because of undeclared information such as previous names, addresses, etc, First Advantage won’t be able to accommodate a refund.
