This course is designed to equip the coach with sufficient knowledge and skill to coach athletes in the safe development single* somersaulting skills and single* somersaulting skills with twists to a competition standard.

Role of the Coach

To plan and structure development programmes for high performance athletes. To use understanding of the mechanics of generating and accelerating somersaults from front and back landing and of creating and stopping twist during somersaulting, to aid them in providing useful coaching points for the athlete.

Course Attendees Must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Hold either Club Coach or Freelance Coach membership
  • Hold a Level 2 in Trampolining

If you are already a member, you do not need to create a new account. Please note if you create a new account, there will be no active membership linked to your profile and you will not be able to book a place on the course.

On successful completion of the course, will cover the Level 3 coach to coach the following skills, and their progressive practices and prerequisites:

  1. Single* somersaults in tucked, piked and straight shapes
  2. Single* somersaults with twist in tucked, piked and straight shapes
  3. Single* somersaults to and from feet and body landings in tucked, piked and straight shapes

*Single somersault is defined as somersault in which the trampoliners head passes underneath their Centre of Mass only once

302 Progressive practice to develop single somersaults in piked and straight shapes

303 Progressive practice to develop single somersaults with twists

304 Mechanics of generating, accelerating and stopping aerial twist during somersaulting

305 Progressive practice to develop single somersaults to and from body landings

306 Mechanics of generating and accelerating angular momentum from front and back landing

307 Developing kinaesthetic and visual awareness during somersaulting

308 Aesthetics and routine construction using single somersaults
