Course Aim

This course is designed to equip the coach with sufficient knowledge and skill to deliver trampoline sessions under their own guidance. On successful completion of the course, the Level 2 Coach will be able to Analyse and Assess the trampoline environment and be able to plan and provide safe and structured sessions.

The role of the Independent Gymnastics Level 2 Trampoline Coach is to plan and deliver structured and safe trampoline sessions. They are responsible for maintaining risk assessments for the trampoline environment. They are responsible for keeping and maintaining any necessary records. The Level 2 coach may supervise the rigging and de-rigging of equipment. The Level 2 Coach may teach and supervise a Level 1 coach or other assistant in double support (with the Level 2 coach) for front and back somersault. The Level 2 coach will make effective use of double and single supporting and push in mats where appropriate to skills being learned.

Assessment

The course is assessed by observation of practical skills throughout and by discussion with the tutor. There is a question paper requiring 60% to pass and a practical assessment of one somersaulting and one twisting skill.

Course Attendees Must:

  • Be at least 16 years old (If under 18 they will not be allowed to run a class on their own until they turn 18 this is to comply with insurance rules)
  • Hold either Club Coach or Freelance Coach membership
  • Hold a Level 1 in Trampolining
